Headsets for Gamers: Get your gear on!
Luke Skywalker has his light saber. Starbuck has her fighter. Lara Croft has her … well, her tools. In other words, heroes are defined by their equipment. That means every gamer today needs a headset that will provide the best possible sound for voice commands and audio input.
Gaming headsets should be rated on five qualities: sound, noise cancellation, microphone, cable length and most of all, comfort.
Gamers are known for their all-night sessions, so make the headsets comfort the top priority. And the only way to judge a headset's comfort is to wear it for at least 15 minutes. How soft and thick is the padding. Are the ear cups big enough to encompass your entire ear? Does the headband adjust to fit your head? Is the headset too heavy? If the comfort doesn't meet these minimum standards, move on to another model.
After comfort, getting the full sound realism of game play is the most important asset in a headset. Look for "surround sound" in a headset; newer headsets come with 5.1 digital audio encoded to heighten this effect. Next, crank up the headset's bass to check whether those whizzing bullets and roaring rockets rattle your teeth. Don't forget to look for inline volume control to set the speaker levels.
The headset microphone should include noise-canceling features to block out background sounds, especially if gaming in a busy Internet café. Another kind of noise can be a factor if choosing a wireless headset with Bluetooth or RF capacity. While wireless units allow freedom of movement, they can suffer signal loss and can be susceptible to hisses, pops, static and other audio horrors. If opting for a wired headset, be sure to get one with a cable with a minimum length of 2 meters to allow for plenty of movement. An extra-long cable or additional cable may be necessary if gaming with a console.
Here are some examples of the latest in gaming headsets:
The portable GameCom P20 offers all-around versatility for the Sony PSP, including gaming, chat, movies and music options. Attributes include a noise-canceling microphone, dual earbuds, full-range "surround sound" stereo, fingertip control of in-line volume and mute. A QuickAdjust boom positions the microphone, while GameCom P20's Flex Grip secures the headset while it ramps up the comfort.
Plantronics' GameCom X20 headset for Xbox offers in-the-ear design with Flex Grip, a flexible boom and a noise-canceling microphone.
Plantronics backs its GameCom X10 headset for Xbox 360 and Xbox with a one-year quality warranty. It features extra cushioning, an over-the-head design, an extended boom a noise-canceling microphone and inline volume and mute controls.
Plantronics GameCom X30 for Xbox draws raves as a premium console gaming headset. Like its less endowed cousins, it covers all the quality bases: comfortable single-ear coverage, extended boom, noise-canceling microphone, inline volume and mute, plus a hip design. This version also has a one-year warranty.
Headsets such as these can range from a low of around $25 for a basic unit to as much as $150 for a console gaming headset to provide the ultimate game experience.

Frequently Asked Questions...
who would win in a fight between luke skywalker and harry potter?
i believe luke would win, but i want your opinion, i have my reasons and i want to see other peoples.
Answer:
I think Luke would have the upper hand because what he does with the force is basically nonverbal, wandless magic. Every skill Harry has as a wizard, Luke has through the force but that little bit of time saved by not having to speak first would be the deciding factor.
Even if Harry has become skilled in nonverbals, the force can still absorb the energy of the spell cast at Luke and the lightsaber can deflect it. Harry can cast a protection charm around himself but no where in the books does it say "protego" aor other protection spells will deflect the curse back at it's caster. Only two spells colliding can do that, AFAIKFTB.
