Don't Share Your Winnings with Online Poker Game
The hit 2008 film starring Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher may have been a good watch but most of us laughed off the possibility of this ever happening. Well it seems that the impossible has actually become a reality in France!
It seems that the story has come straight out of a movie script as 2 arguing friends are locked in a court battle over who should keep the 3 million US Dollars in winnings from a slot machine! Earlier this year in March, Marie-Hélène Jarguel placed the equivalent of 70 US Dollars into a French slot machine. With her was her male friend Francis Sune, who she had always considered to be her lucky charm when playing the slots.
The friends had been enjoying their evening out and Miss Jarguel put the cash into the machine and then Mr Sune pressed the button. Then what we all dream of happened. They hit the jackpot of over 3 million US Dollars! It was all joy and celebration at the free cash, and left Miss Jaruel with the cheque.
Less than a week later Mr Sune had hired a lawyer as he is insisting that half of the money should by rights be his.
The case is now being heard in court and the judge will have to make a decision on who should keep the money. Both parties are convinced that they are right! One says that without Miss Jarguel supplying the money there would never have been a win. Then on the other hand, Mr Sune would never have even been at the casino without Miss Jarguel, so there was no chance of him winning anything!
It’s a difficult call in our eyes, but we will have to wait till December to hear the outcome of this unique case. Depending on which way the court case goes, Hollywood may have to think about a sequel to the blockbuster!
