Limitless Opportunities With Mixed Media
Mixed media art is the term coined for artwork which mixes more than one medium like, paints, string and tissue paper. The selection of material and how it's created is really an individual decision and there's no "correct" approach to take in making mixed media art. Canvas is a great surface for making a mixed media art project since it is bare and paint will easily adhere to it. When making a mixed media project, artists use any mixture of materials and mediums they choose, mixing items like paint, photos, clay and object sometimes all in a single piece. Due to this style's unique format, getting a frame to fit all inside can be difficult. However, using a shadow box which allows for the piece's depth as well as texture, you can protect and exhibit your mixed media artwork in its very own frame.
When it comes to artistic expression, there are unlimited opportunities. The artistic genre called mixed media is a very broad and diverse form of art, as it enables artists to combine many techniques and materials together to create new and different types of art. Mixed media combines 2 or more forms of artistic media together in a single composition, such as collage and pencil drawing, or photography and painting.
In mixed media art, just about any medium can be combined with other, creating numerous unique works of art. A few artists, for instance, put fabric, floor tiles, metal or papers to a painted canvas, so the art seems to leap out of frame. Others add collage or mosaic methods to their paintings. Mixed media paintings can include clay or modelling compound, candle wax, tissue paper, string and sand, or apply paint using a sponge or knife.
A mixed media collage artist takes this art form and combines it along with other media such as paints or pencil drawings. A few collages are monochromatic, some others are filled with colour; some are abstract, while others are usually more literal depictions. In her collages, Shanti Marie utilizes a number of mediums such as gluing on tissue paper what she has painted, and using crayons, pastels and felt tip pens. Occasionally she sticks on items of old jewelry or wrist watch parts. In her work "Collage Journal #2", Marie embellished the cover of a composition book. In order to avoid getting glue or paint on the inside of the books, she often glues the parts together on a different paper and then glues the entire sheet to the book cover.
Art is definitely full of different masterpieces, from paintings to sculptures, movies to photographic pieces. Just as often, you'll find items that reflect various types of art. This is what's called mixed media art. It entails the combination of art fields to create something new and unique. Over the course of modern art history, there have been a number of different professional artists who have worked well in the world of mixed media and who have produced brilliant and exciting pieces.
